Mary Rothfusz (she/her) is the Clinical Director at Modern Therapy Group, where she leads clinician development, supervision, and program strategy. As a licensed mental health counselor (LP), Mary’s work is rooted in trauma-informed, client-centered care that integrates evidence-based modalities with mindfulness, somatic approaches, and nervous system regulation.
She holds dual master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Psychology and has supported clients in a variety of settings — including hospitals, public schools, startups, and private practice. Her specialties include anxiety, relational trauma, chronic pain, identity exploration, and professional burnout, with a strong commitment to serving LGBTQ+ and BIPOC clients.
In addition to her clinical work, Mary is also a facilitator and adjunct professor of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), the evidence-based meditation program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Her MBSR offerings at MTG emphasize immersive, experiential practice to help participants reduce stress, break reactive patterns, and cultivate greater clarity, balance, and resilience through meditation, gentle movement, and reflection.
Mary is passionate about creating inclusive, growth-oriented spaces where both clients and clinicians can thrive.
