How Does it Work?

Bilateral stimulation (rhythmic side-to-side eye movement), simulates REM sleep, allowing you to process specific pieces of information that are causing distress in different areas of the brain. These painful memories can interfere with living in the moment, building and maintaining relationships, and taking care of daily needs. When distress from a disturbing event or experience remains in the brain, the processes allowing the brain to recover gets stuck. With EMDR therapy, your brain will learn to reprocess those memories and activate your mind’s natural healing abilities.
