Evidence-based care

Why research continues to support IOP.

Recovery isn't just about getting help. It's about receiving the right level of care at the right time. Extensive clinical research shows Intensive Outpatient Programs are one of the most effective treatment options for anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and other mental health conditions.

For many people, IOPs deliver outcomes comparable to higher levels of care, while allowing you to stay connected to your family, career, education, and everyday life.

Findings from a 2023 clinical study on IOP treatment for veterans, published in Cognitive and Behavioral Practice, showed meaningful improvements across mental health and daily functioning.

How long is the IOP?

Our Intensive Outpatient Program runs 8–12 weeks. Your exact length of treatment depends on your individual progress, and your primary therapist works with you throughout to determine the most appropriate discharge date.

Will I have an individual therapist during IOP?

Yes. Individual therapy is a foundational part of our IOP. Along with group therapy, one-on-one sessions with a licensed therapist give you a private space to explore your experiences, build coping strategies, and gain clarity.

Are psychiatric services available through IOP?

Yes. Our nurse practitioner provides psychiatric care from the beginning of the program and throughout. They assess symptoms, discuss medication options when appropriate, and collaborate with your treatment team to support your overall wellness.

Are IOP groups confidential?

Absolutely. Your privacy is our priority. Every participant signs confidentiality and consent agreements, and all group members are expected to keep what's shared in sessions private. Our licensed clinicians foster a safe, supportive environment where you can speak openly with confidence. To further protect your privacy, AI tools, recording, and screenshots are not permitted during sessions.

What behavioral health support does Modern Therapy Group offer?

We offer a full range of services tailored to your behavioral health needs, from managing anxiety and mood disorders to addressing long-term emotional struggles. Our care includes individual therapy, group therapy, and medication management when needed. Every client begins with a comprehensive evaluation so we can understand your goals, symptoms, and life circumstances, then build a plan that truly fits you.

How does individual therapy fit into IOP?

You'll meet regularly with a licensed therapist in one-on-one sessions to explore emotional patterns, build coping strategies, and gain clarity around your experiences. True healing comes from personalized attention and authentic connection. That's the foundation of how we work.
