Life is hard. It can leave us feeling overwhelmed, insecure, and all-around “stuck.” We may have a deep wish to make changes, yet we are frequently blocked, hindered by past experiences, negative patterns of behavior, and a multitude of other factors—often outside our awareness—that convince us change is not possible. I truly believe we all have the capacity for change. More importantly, I believe that inside each of us already exists the resources we need to make that change. It is my goal to provide you with a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your life experiences, reconnect with your inner strengths, and begin clearing the path to your most fulfilling life.
My approach to counseling is integrative, examining the complexity of human experience while focusing on your unique needs. I place a strong emphasis on concepts of mindfulness, self-awareness, and skills training grounded in principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I value practical tools that support emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness within the broader concepts of acceptance, self-compassion and self-efficacy.
There is no “right” approach to counseling. There is only the approach that works for you. It is not my place to give you answers or solve problems, but to guide and encourage you while you discover the answers that already exist inside of you.
