When we’ve been struggling for a while, it’s easy to feel stuck and overwhelmed. I’m here to help you understand the parts of you that may be feeling anxious, depressed, stuck, or in doubt. Together, we will build a supportive relationship in which we can explore the challenges you’re experiencing, whether it’s an internal struggle or an external conflict. I want to help you access the self-confidence and inner trust that we all have inside but may have lost touch with.
My approach is client-centered and strongly rooted in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of therapy, which welcomes all parts of you in an embracing, non-pathologizing way. IFS is an evidence-based approach that brings greater understanding and compassion to your internal system – no shame or blame. This work helps us connect to the inner needs asking for attention and recognize the burdens we want to let go of. I have worked for many years as a massage therapist and bodywork instructor to new therapists, so my work will often incorporate somatic awareness. I have found working with mind and body together can have a powerful and empowering effect on healing. And particularly for those struggling in their relationship with their body, somatic connection can be an important part of the therapeutic process.
As a counselor, my philosophy is centered around connection, curiosity, and healing through greater awareness and empathy. I’m dedicated to creating a non-judgmental, empowering space in which you feel comfortable expressing yourself. I want to listen and understand, go at your pace, and support the healing and growth you’re looking for.
